Entertainment Weekly has an adorable interview with Kermit the Frog up where he spills the beans on the plot to The Muppets Into DarknessThe Muppets... Again!, the sequel to 2011’s The Muppets, which is scheduled to hit theaters on March 21, 2014.
The Muppets...Again! kicks off with the Muppets on a global tour, selling out huge venues all over Europe. Things are going swimmingly until suddenly the world’s largest diamond is stolen by Constantine, a renowned Russian criminal who happens to look exactly like Kermit.
Sounds like we’re basically getting The Great Muppet Caper, which our production manager is totally more than okay with. Ricky Gervais plays Constantine’s dastardly sidekick, while Tina Fey is featured as a feisty Russian prison guard named Nadia.
